At user requirement for service in rainy season, the data transmission of Fengyun geostationary satellite is intensified and this operational change involves both FY-2D(86.5oE) and FY-2E(105oE) satellites. From 00:00 (UTC) July 11, 2014, each of the two satellites provides 20 extra imagery transmissions of the northern hemisphere based on the average 28 full-disc earth imagery transmissions everyday. According to new operational schedule, FY-2E (105oE) transmits full-disc imagery at hour time, and half-disc imagery of the North at half-hour time, except for 4 dedicated observations for wind derivation; FY-2D(86.5oE) transmits full-discs at 15-minute past the hour, and the northern half-discs at 15-minute to the hour, except for the four wind observations.
